First you want to open your Automation Kit Box and make sure you have all of the parts required for the set up. Please contact customer support if any of the below parts are missing before installing the Automation Kit.
(1) Motor Box with bracket, (1) Manual Switch, (1) Battery Pack, (4) Cable Clips, Rubber Tubing(2 various sizes), Rod Adapters(6 various sizes).
Removing Existing Blinds:
Step 1. Pull your blind's cord to raise the slats all the way up. Then carefully remove any valances or trim. remove the tilt wand and set aside.
Step 2: Unclip the brackets at the ends of the headrail and remove headrail. Next remove the tilt rod and tilt mechanism.
Installing MySmartBlinds Hardware:
Step 1. Remove the Manual Switch C-Clip by pressing down in the center and slide out. Remove the adhesive film and insert the Manual Switch through the hole previously occupied by the tilt mechanism, making sure it is in the correct place and that the micro USB outlet is visible. Pull the hook to ensure the Manual Switch is in place and replace the C-Clip
Step 2. Place the Battery Pack on the right-side of the head rail and connect the white cable cord to the Motor Box on the right-side. Then connect the grey cable cord from the Manual Switch to the Motor Box on the left side.
Step 3: Gently open up the head rail and place the Motor Box inside. Then use the Cable Clips to hold excess cable cords as well as keeping them away from any moving parts
Step 4: Find the Rod Adapter that fits your tilt rod that can slide up and down freely without being too loose
Step 5: Make sure the barrels inside the head rail are aligned the same direction and insert the tilt rod through the first barrel and motor. Once the rod is all the way through the motor then attach the Rod Adapter to the tilt rod and push it into the Motor Box until it locks into place. Then pull the tilt rod through the rest of barrels making sure they are still aligned with each other.
Step 6: Replace any rod pins and end brackets. Then place Rubber Tubing on each end of the tilt rod and switch the Battery to the ON position. Replace tilt wand on Manual Switch Hook(If your blinds use tilt cords, cut one strings from the tilt mechanism and tie a small overhand loop that you can place on the Manual Switch hook).
